Guess what? We are back and with a new topic.
Recently a major league Baseball fined Arizona Diamondbacks because a coach was spotted wearing an Apple Watch in the team’s dugout. This incident took place on Wednesday night’s game which was against Colorado Rockies. However, after discussion, the organization came to a conclusion that the device was not used with the intention to cheat. In the statement given by the Diamondbacks/interpreter said that Ariel Prieto was wearing an Apple Watch which leads to the breaking of the league’s rules. According to the rule, the league cannot have electronic devices in the dugout. It was emphasized that the device wasn’t used with a malevolent motive. Prieto was interviewed while the phone and the watch were examined.
Only recently Boston Red Sox were fined for using such a device with the purpose to cheat by stealing signs. Even though it wasn’t Prieto’s intention, he will still be charged. It is being speculated that he will have to pay an undisclosed amount as a fine. MLB will then donate the fine to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. In a way, it has a good ending. The coach must be irked, but his money is not going to waste. It will only help those who are struck by the destructive natural calamity. This could help him sleep at night.
We think it is a good idea. Rather than keeping the money to themselves, it will go to a benefit which is the need of the hour.
Prieto might be embarrassed or piqued by the turn of events, but that is human nature. We are just assuming here. What do you think about the rules/ was it fair for the coach to pay the fine? What according to you should have been done? There are so many questions that are buzzing in our heads.
